Billing and limits
BaseURL is prepaid. You top up in naira, usage is priced in US dollars per million tokens, and each request is charged only for the tokens it used.
Top-ups
- Top up from the Top up page through Paystack, with a Nigerian card or a bank transfer.
- Before you pay, you see the exchange rate and the exact credit you will receive, with fees included. The rate is locked for that top-up.
- The minimum top-up is shown on the page (normally ₦2,000). Your balance is held in US dollars; your dashboard shows it in naira at today's rate.
- Top-ups are final: credit cannot be refunded or withdrawn. Payment errors on our side are always put right. See the terms.
How a request is charged
- Before the request runs, BaseURL holds its maximum possible cost (your prompt plus
max_tokens) from your balance. - The model answers.
- You are charged for the tokens actually used, and the rest of the hold returns to your balance at once.
So you can never spend more than your balance, and a large max_tokens needs that much balance free while the request runs, even if the answer is short. If the provider fails before answering, nothing is charged.
Limits
| Limit | Details |
|---|---|
| Rate limit | Per API key. Above it, 429 rate_limit_exceeded with Retry-After. |
| Requests in flight | Per account. Above it, 429 too_many_inflight. |
| Monthly key limit | Optional, per key, in naira, with alerts. See Authentication. |
Playground
The Playground in your dashboard lets owners and admins try any model. Each message is charged like an API call, answers are capped at 1,024 tokens, and the spend appears under a key named Dashboard playground, which you can limit or pause like any key.
Usage
The Usage page lists every request with its tokens and charge, by day, model and key, and exports to CSV.
